SWEDISH MASSAGE THERAPY

Since the 1800s Swedish massage has provided a way to relax and treat soft tissue pain and injury with manual manipulation, hydrotherapy, and exercise.
Many people seek Swedish massage therapy to relax, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote wellness and well-being in their lives.
Studies suggest that massage therapy calms the autonomic nervous system, creating a greater parasympathetic response. The parasympathetic state is where rest and repair occur in the body.
I use lotions or oils during the session; essential oils can enhance your experience.

ARVIGO® MAYA ABDOMINAL MASSAGE THERAPY

Also known as ATMAT – the Arvigo Techniques
of Maya Abdominal Therapy and Tul’ix Therapy Therapy is a massage of the abdomen that gently realigns the organs in the pelvic bowl. The resulting decongestion improves the flow of blood, lymph, nerves, and energy. This assists in tissue repair, healing and optimal functioning. It can also help release emotional and energetic blocks in the abdomen. Arvigo® Therapy can help relieve chronic disease symptoms. It can improve the body’s ability to repair itself and find balance.
Based on ancient Maya healing practices, it treats pelvic congestion in both male and female bodies, as well as many common digestive complaints. A self-care component allows the client to continue care at home.

NEUROMUSCULAR INTEGRATION & STRUCTURAL ALIGNMENT (NISA)

NISA is a deep-tissue massage therapy technique that treats fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around muscles, bones, and organs. Healthy fascia is strong and pliable providing a slippery envelope that allows soft tissues and bones to glide smoothly. When injured, the fascia thickens, tightens, and becomes less supple. The layers of fascia adhere, restricting the movement of muscles and organs, causing strain, pain, and poor posture. NISA stretches, softens, and releases the fascia, freeing holding patterns. The NISA techniques help to break down scar tissue.

The NISA Series
The NISA series works systematically through the body and can treat muscle strains caused by the body compensating for injury or weakness
in another area. The series alters chronic postural habits and results in long-lasting change. Physical improvements from the NISA series result in positive changes in attitude and energy. The NISA series consists of twelve weekly sessions and requires a three-month commitment. Your progress is charted in a variety of ways. Hands-on manipulation is combined with movement re-education. Your personal goals and commitment are important to the success of the series.

PREGNANCY AND POST PARTUM MASSAGE THERAPY

Pregnancy is a transitional time in a woman’s life. Nurturing touch can support the physical, emotional, and psychological changes a woman experiences. The main benefits of massage therapy – relaxation and stress reduction– are particularly important at this time. Pregnancy massage therapy includes postural training and exercise to relieve the physical discomforts of pregnancy and preparation for labour. Postpartum massage therapy helps with labour recovery and the physical and emotional stress of caring for newborns and young children. Massage therapy may be received in all stages of pregnancy, labour, post-Cesarean recovery, and postpartum. It supports and reinforces what’s learned in prenatal classes.

HOT STONE AROMA MASSAGE THERAPY

Enjoy a relaxing massage with hot stones. A blend of your favourite essential oils are used if you wish. Heated basalt stones are applied to the body and used to perform the massage therapy itself. It’s a lovely calming treatment, especially in winter. If desired, the heat makes it possible to work more deeply into the tissue.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

This non-invasive and effective osteopathic treatment is based on the concept of regulating the cerebral spinal fluid by light touch. It is offered as a stand-alone treatment over clothes or as part of a regular massage session.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a holistic therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, which are believed to correspond to different organs and systems in the body. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology promotes relaxation, improves circulation, and supports the body’s natural healing processes. It’s a gentle, non-invasive way to reduce stress and enhance overall wellness.

REIKI

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based healing practice that promotes balance and relaxation by channeling universal life energy through the practitioner’s hands. Often experienced as a calming, meditative session, Reiki helps reduce stress, support emotional well-being, and encourage the body’s natural healing abilities.
